You know when your favourite band pulls a total 180 on you, and you hate it? Well, that is precisely what this album was for me.

I was mad. I was mad at everything. I had gone mad.

For my first album, I received a lot of praise, but in some strange way, it was the praise I didn't want. "My grandma and I listen to this together," what young techno artist wants to get that? (My favourite feedback now. I was too young and stupid to advance on the idea that my techno brought two distant generations together)

Other aspects of the early 2000s scene didn't fit me either. People globbed onto the 'intelligent' part and suddenly started thinking that the type of music they liked made them more intelligent. The whole sad boy aspect of it all. Just snobbery. I hated all of it, the whole scene, and this was my fuck you back to it.

It wasn't until I matured that I noticed what I had captured in Robotic Girl Next Door reflected that scene. I hated myself.

"Pay attention to what you hate, there something in that." -Jerry Saltz (Saltz himself an art world contrarian who, to me, appears nearly indistinguishable from the people who criticize him 😆)

It's a piece of art and a pure expression. It can't be called an "album." Robotic Girl Next Door is an album of music made to be enjoyed. This is music made to tell you the fuck off.
